: Original M22 and BE reunited with COPO
ChevyThunder May 3rd, 09, 09:27 PM It took some time but the original M22 and BE rear end out of my 69 COPO Camaro are in my possession . The gentleman who had these parts was after this car for a long time and it was a difficult and disappointing situation for him . I had no idea that someone had been waiting on this car for over 10 years until a fellow sYc member called me the very day I bought the car. In the end it was not about me and it was not about him , it was about making this COPO whole again with all original born with engine , trans and rear end that it left the factory with in September of 1969. The car will be around long after we all check out and I appreciate the this gentleman's consideration .
Not sure how many all original COPOs are around with a POP but I know I am pleased to be the caretaker of this one.
South Side Goons & Hitmen May 3rd, 09, 09:47 PM That is great News Chevy Thunder!! Great to hear that the COPO is whole again!
COPO, Yenko, ZL-1, Baldwin Motion, SS, Z28, even RS or just a simple early Norwood Camaro with a 327 2 bbl, PG trans & 10 bolt, it's great when an engine, trans or rear end find their home....Kinda like the heartwarming stories you hear every once in a while about a lost dog being re-united with an owner which moved out of state over a 1,000 miles away.
Kudos to ya man! Best of luck with the COPO!! :beers:

If you can't find a shuttle a 512 seems like a logical 2nd choice! l:)

Come to think of it, when I asked about my graduation present I think my father offered to send me 'to the moon' also
Good to hear you take good care of your kid Van - he's a nice kid

ChevyThunder May 5th, 09, 06:02 PM Ahhh the Honeymooners .... TO THE MOON !!
I was only joking . I did give him the RS Z but the kid did such a good job when he cleaned up the engine compartment I took it back !!
ChevyThunder May 6th, 09, 05:21 PM Hey Mr. Tibbs how about a pic or two for us to drool on????
This is the key peice... the M 22 . I had actually found another BE that matched my POP but the Muncie has the VIN on it so that was very important. In the end I got both the original pieces missing from my car so it was a good weekend
