Check out the profile comparison of Keisler T45RS v. Muncie:

- Notice the Muncie is actually taller than T45RS at the case/extension joint

- Originally designed and made in Muncie, IN. The Muncie (est. 1929) and Warner gear (est. 1919) plants were just 3 miles apart!

- Fully synchronized including reverse, Muncie has no reverse synchronization.

- Same weight as Tremec TKO

- Low profile main case design fits many cars as well as Muncie, IN THAT AREA. Fits better than TKO IN THAT AREA ONLY.

- Not as broad as TKO due to single rail shift design but still broader than the Muncie.

- Much larger gears than the T5 equalling much greater strength. DO NOT CONFUSE T45RS WITH T5, THEY ARE GREATLY DIFFERENT.

- T45RS shares the same synchro parts as its big brother T56 6 speed for superior shift quality.

The Keisler T45RS has proven to be a robust and reliable 5 speed overdrive transmission. It is an excellent lower cost option to the TKO for those who do not require the TKOs strength or are working on a lower budget.

Yes, we have engineered the T45RS with multiple shifter positions just like the TKO and can keep the shifter in the console location. Basic kits start at just $1399. Follow this link and tell us more about your Camaro so we can make an custom quote for you. Please indicate T45RS for the quote.

Will a stock crossmember work? If not, do you offer one in the kit?

Good question, we do not have a crossmember engineered just yet for the T45RS. We can add the TKO crossmember for you to modify or you can cut the center out of yours and fab your own. The isolator mount will be 17.8" behind the bell compared to 15.4" on the TKO. The TKO crossmember is manufactured in-house by us and is a box welded/contoured design which results in a much stronger unit torsionally compared to a tubular crossmember.

T45RS/350= 350 ft. lb. continuous input

T45RS/425= 425 ft. lb. continuous input

These are continuous input ratings and as with any manual transmission they will handle brief spikes of much higher input. Meaning? If your motor makes a peak of 500 ft. lbs. @ 5500 rpms your continuous output will be less while climbing through the rpms.

so as i understand this should hold up fine for street use say a 400hp motor ??
the convertible i am redoing will see occasional heavy foot usually hwy and cruise ins...
i find that whatever the manufacturer suggests then less problems later...
thanks jeff.. we value your opinion..

400 hp? Yes, I would not hesitate to run this tranny behind that motor.
