i think you need you the casting numbers or the casting date...or both!!

If that's all the codes on the tube, it is a 71 up axle (Julian date). K is the GM of Canada plant. G would be a Detroit Gear and Axle-sourced Posi. CC would make it a 2.41:1 geared 7.5-inch 10 bolt out of an 82 or 83 Malibu.

But...

I think you're missing a character between the last 0 and the G. What that character is could mean the above is still correct, or...

It could be a 1970 model year rear (only year to use the three alpha coding) assembled at the Detroit G&A plant, with no posi. I don't have a CCY code (have a COY code though).

If it is a 70 MY 10-bolt, it is likely an 8.2-inch.

If you don't know if it is coil spring or leaf spring, I'm guessing you have not seen it and asking if it has "horns", "blocks," or nothing at the bottom edges of the housing when view from behind would be kind of pointless.

Can't you ask them to measure from backing plate to backing plate, and also whether it has circular pads for coils or U-shaped perches for leafs? The visual cues for which type of 10-bolt is on this link:
