My powerglide (1967 w/327 2bbl) transmission slips when I get on the gas hard (push the gas down hard and quick) at about 30 - 40 mph. If I let off and press the gas steadily all is well. Other than that one issue the transmission is great (for a powerglide.) The transmission / engine is original but she did sit up a few years between owners. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what the issue might be? No leaks, fluid does not smell burnt.

if so then............

powerglides have an externally adjustable clutch band.

look up the procedures and try it.

Mine does the same thing, except opposite. If I floor it it'll shift. If I ease into it I have to lift to get it to shift. Did you find the problem? I'd love to know what you did to fix it.
