Make sure you have the right parts. I ended up taking mine to a local hot rod shop for that part of the install. It turns out that Uni-Steer sent the wrong parts with my original purchase. I figured as much but I am not a steering expert and wanted someone with some experience in this. So I had to buy another part or two, and one my guy had the parts it only took him about an hour.

I was a little ticked about the whole deal since I sent back the un-used shaft and was never refunded (They said I waited too long to do something about it, and that the part was used. It was never installed so how can it be used)?

With a camaro for the PS install I think you need to use three U-joints and a heim joint and the angle is still pretty severe. I will check mine and get back with you. If your kit only gave you two then you need to get a hold of uni-steer. Their tech line is pretty good at telling you what you need, the only part of that experience I liked.

If you haven't totally installed and gotten rid of your steering box components, I would go back to them. While I do not have my ride on the road yet, I am not convinced it was worth the time/expense to go to an R/P. Also from my research if I ever want to go the LS-engine route I may have some clearance issues.

If I ever get the car back on the road, maybe it will be worth it but right now, not so much.

Chancy - on page 3 of Pro-Street(under pro-touring), our post is "Video of our 69 BB".
The 2nd video is from underneath, and might help a little. You could also search my unisteer posts. Good luck.........................DC

Hey, I went and checked my 69. It takes three u-joints and a heim joint, plus little welding...

They probably just sent you shaft and two u-joints with your kit. That is what they did with me several years ago. Once I realized that, I went to their web site and ordered what I thought was the right adapter only to have my fabricator say it wasn't so. He got on the horn with unisteer and got the right part. It was a hassle so patience is the key and don't forget to fire up your welder. That's why I took it to a shop, it was worth the $100 to me...
