: how is my stance?
keypilot May 17th, 09, 05:32 PM almost done. i replaced the mono springs and 8.2 3:08 rear with JCW 3 leafs and a 73 nova 3:73 posi. all new bushings and 1 3/8" lowering block.
as you see it here the gas tank is full. there is 27" from the ground to wheel lip in the rear and 25" in the front. there are no shocks on it right now, i am still figuring out which ones will work for me. (multi perches w/mono shock plates and 1 3/8" spacer) i will take some measurements tomorrow, i have been riding around like this all weekend to settle the suspension. i should have shocks on it this week but that wont change the stance.
the wheels are 205/60/15 front and 295/50/15 rear. i will be going to 17s as soon as i can afford it.
so? how's the stance.
pay no attention to the chicken pox.

Skeeter55 May 17th, 09, 05:38 PM Besides the chicken pox, it looks awesome and man those are some fat rear tires..
Vegas69 May 17th, 09, 05:39 PM Stance is actually pretty good. I'd bring the front down .5-1" and the backspacing out back is way off.
Z15CAM May 17th, 09, 05:39 PM The stance looks Great but we would get pulled over as we are not allowed to have tires extend beyond the wheel wells; as a result, my ride ended with rear flares running P295's. Back Spacing would have limited room for my Tail Pipes.

keypilot May 17th, 09, 05:42 PM thanks, the tires came with the car they are 10" wide in the rear. the new onew wont be.
Z15CAM May 17th, 09, 06:53 PM Hey Mark - Let me know when you decide to make your tire change out. I'm interested in them BF P295's and possibly the rims too. My BF's are starting to show some wear and them ones look to be in good shape - Wonder what the shipping is from Fl to ON CDA - lol - RON.

If the new tires fit in the wheel well, I'd go lower, here's a quick chop for you

I agree, still looks a tad high to me. How tall are the tires that are on it now?
Z15CAM May 18th, 09, 12:40 AM If I can't run my Camaro through a cow pasture without it bottoming out it's too low - LOL
SPARKY69 May 18th, 09, 04:57 AM Stance is actually pretty good. I'd bring the front down .5-1" and the backspacing out back is way off. x2
keypilot May 18th, 09, 08:41 AM I think i am happy where it sits now, no problems with speed bumps or parking lots. I will see after i find the right wheels, maybe drop it some more.
FastFred May 18th, 09, 08:43 AM It has to do with the rear.73 nova is 1" wider.Which means the back spacing should be more inside. My 10s are under and in with 4 1/2 back spacing.4 1/4 to be exact.

Yeah ,it looks now, I did the chop since you mentioned you want to go to 17" rims. The larger rims tend to exaggerate the wheel well space.
77thor May 18th, 09, 10:28 AM ... I'd bring the front down .5-1" ....
+1........ maybe even 2 inches.
keypilot May 18th, 09, 01:57 PM fred, i have to disagree with you on the rear being wider. my wheels stick out the same as they did with the factory parts.
edit: sorry, i just realized i wrote 10" wide. they are 12" wide at the tread. a little more at the sidewall.
bill3337 May 18th, 09, 02:44 PM It looks good, but I'd be tempted to drop the front just a little. The revamped pictures look great!
4sspd69 May 18th, 09, 05:03 PM I like it.....looks just right to me! I don't know how the guys with the slammed cars can enjoy them. Here where I live, i'd leave parts behind at most of the railroad crossings if my car was that low.....probably keep all the dead possums scraped off the roads as well. To each his own.
p.s. Do you think this "big wheel" thing everybody ('cept me) is into is just a fad...kinda like bell bottoms and disco?
