Hey Guys,
Here is and easy one for ya. I've done a few searches and not finding what I want. Have a 67 w/327 and a 4-speed Saginaw. I wanna pull the motor out and leave the tranny in the car. How do I separate the engine and the tranny?? Thanks.

right where the bellhousing meets the block, it won't be easy to get it back in with the tranny in there though

6 bellhousing bolts, i found it difficult to match the block to the trans again, theres these hard rubber pegs that need to be in before bolting..

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll just pull it w/the tranny.

If you pull them together drain the trans oil first.

i pulled my engine seperate from the trans, i took the bolts out, and lowered the trans, then i took the engine out

it was easier for me because of room, and i didnt need to go out and spend a ton of money on a load leveler

i pulled my 350 after I removed the tranny. I have Torin 2 ton engine hoist. It was a little to short to pull the engine for the front so I had to go over the fender, so I figured it would be easier. When I put the engine back in, I attached the tranny to the engine before I installed it and I used a load leveler. The torin levelers are about $35. It saved a lot of busted knuckles. Its a little more work to go over the fender. Since the engine leveler drops the engine down farther, I had leave the car at ride height and position the engine/trans over the engine bay. Then I adjusted the leveler so the tranny was angled down. Then I had to jack up the car so I could fit the legs of the hoist under the car and finally drop the motor/trans in. You definitely want a few extra people helping. The extra eyes and hands will help avoid damage like droping the engine on your fender or putting the tranny through the windshield.

Just leave the bell housing and clutch hooked up, then take off the 4-bolts that bolt the trans to the bell housing and then slide the trans back from it.. Then lift the motor out with the bell housing/clutch connected to the motor. Remove radiator.
