I have an L78 Camaro that I put a fun motor in for running around town in: 454 with aluminum heads, al intake, mini starter, alum WP, alum flywheel. Its sitting a little high in the front. This motor is a lot lighter than the 396 with iron heads and iron water pump. Anyone else running something similar and happy with their springs? If so what are they? I'm more into handling than drag strip type stuff. I haven't weighed my car so I'm at a loss there. I have power steering and its a 4 speed car everything else is just basic SS option. I have some AFX spindles I want to run that drop the front about an inch. would be nice to put the right spring in there and be able to conclude that operation. Anyone?.....Bueller?

If its any help, Global West recommended SBC coil overs if I was running aluminum heads on my BB, BB if I had iron.

Thanks, that makes sense. You would think an iron BB with all aluminum components should be similar to a stock sbc in weight. It seems funny that there seems to be no reference tables that show a break down in weight of both sbc and bbc with various aluminum and other popular light weight components (e.g., mini starter).

I run small block springs but I'm running coil overs. I also have the battery in the trunk. Other than that are setup is similar.
