Raised White Letters driving me crazy . Always cleaning them trying to keep them white fighting the yellowing. I like the look but does the car look good without?

I don't necessarily hate white letters out, but I definitely like your car better with the black walls. I'd say without.

Nice car, by the way. Bringing my Camaro back to my parents in Phoenix soon. Looking foward to moving back one of these days. (not to my parents. to Phoenix. lol)

I have to say it looks better with the white letters out. Too plain otherwise. Nice ride.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.
Redlines would by great with the red interior But $$$$$$$$$ somthing i dont have. But i do have a set firestone Wide oval D/70/14 from Coker with about 40 miles on them that i could sell. I need F/70/14 for them to look right The D/70/14 are way to skinny about 5 inch of rubber in the road one of my should have done more research befor buying buys : (

Blackwalls all the way! I don't like white letters with steel wheels and dog dish caps. The blackwalls keep with the nice simple 'all-buisiness' look of your car (which I love, BTW)! :)

I'm sure no one else will agree, but I think that black painted rims w/ dog dish caps and a thin whitewall would look good too. Of course, that doesn't help with your issue of having to clean the letters. A LOT of these cars wore whitewalls when new.

BFG T/A ,s Whites Out. It's your ride, do what YOU like, not what others tell you!

Depends on the setup. The white car on this thread I would say blackwalls. The red car, whites out for sure as that look fits that car. I just got new wheels/tires on my 68 and blackwalls is the only way. I think setups with big wheels/low profile tires don't look good with white lettering showing.

I agree that it depends...

What the lettering says

Type of lettering - Big bold/fat letters vs. thin white outlined lettering, the difference in style is HUGE.

You could also change the color of the lettering... http://www.duplicolor.com/products/hottires.html

Black walls. White letters detract from the perfect lines of a 1st gen, I don't think it's possible for one to look plain.

For your car, RWL out. Looks sporty and era correct.

My general rule:
- 15" wheels or smaller diameter = RWL
- 16" wheels or larger diameter (hence lower profile tire) = BSW

Whatever you like. If you older guys remember, most Camaros back then had whitwalls with full size hubcaps. My favorite is on my Lemans Blue RS/SS Convert. RWL on Corvette Rally Wheels, 67 short caps with a slight rake, just like they were back then.

seems as if though you went either way half are for and half are not but they all say either way it's sweet and just runner like you want until you can get the reds. i myself like white letters out on a factory style wheel but agree with the aftermarket bigger size not to have whites out. on your car without looked like a sleeper style which i dig but with it looked like a car we would have raced in high school which i also dig so either way my friend nice car post us on what you do. Enjoy

These cars were meant for RWL tires so long as they are 14" or 15" wheels.

But do what you like best. After all, it's your car.
