I just installed inline tube's rear drum replacement assembly. Everything was going fine, pulled all the old stuff off put the new backing plate assembly on. Then I went to put the drum on and noticed that it will not fit over the flange on the axle shaft. I thought about takeing a dremmel to the opening in the center of the drum, but I notice the drum had weights welded to it. If I take off material to allow it to fit I'm worried it may take it out of balance. Any suggestions? I really want to finish this up this weekend.

do you have stock axles?
i think they made the pilot diameter smaller in the later years- not by much, but just enough to cause some frustration.
are the nubs on your axles mushroomed out from being hit with a hammer? if so, take a file and smooth that out.
reaming out the hole in the drums a bit won't affect the balance- but it might cause the drum to be off center unless you have a lathe to chuck it into. and it will definitely make them non returnable.
perhaps check about getting drums locally and sending the poor fitting drums back for a refund, making sure to tell them exactly why they are going back and pointing out that you are a member on a well known internet bulletin board and are fully capable of telling everyone there about your experience with their product.

I don't know if they are stock or not. They were in the car when I got it. I will take another look at it this morning and check the nubs you mentioned. Thanks for the help.
