I have a new red 2010 Camaro for the long weekend.. V6 with 6 speed auto version. My impressons are..

-always liked the side view, although side windows are really short while doors are tall
-I am warming up to the front angle
-except for the tail lights, back end is still ugly as sin
-car handles like it is on rails.. very neutral feel when sliding around a corner
-good balance between taught suspension and comfort
-steering wheel hurts your hands.. weird shape.. very bad design
-paddle shifter is fun toy
-fit and finish is fair to OK, but not great
-front seats are excellent.. very comfy
-floor feels high like a corvette
-back seat leg room only big enough for a pair of skinny hamsters. My 8 year old had to put his feet up on the seat to fit in the back
-head room ok for my 5'10" height. My 6'2" friend's head hit the headliner and his vision was right at the bottom of the headliner in front, with the seat in the lowest position.
-The V6 with 6 speed auto is no slouch and great gas mileage. I have about 400 miles on it now.
-Dont like the instrument panel and some of the switches are in goofy places.
-I also drove a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT today back to back.. much comfier ride and roomier interior but front end feels much heavier on the Challenger. The Camaro is the corner king but maybe not the car for long rides even though the suspension is reasonably plush.

I have the car till Tuesday. Gets quite a few stares, but few people like the rear angle. Maybe a bit of a girls car on looks.. it looks like that car "Lightening McQueen" from that cartoon "Cars". Overall, things I like and things I dont like. Interesting car.

Mike,

I got to say, your input on the car is pretty much the same I had. Been waiting a long time to get in one and had my chance 5/8/09. I'm 6'4" and my head also hit the headliner even with the sun roof open. Caught the edge of the liner around the window. Didn't care for the dash gauges. I thought they did a great job on the console gauges. The radio and heater controls look kinda cheap. I do like the rear of the car but didn't care for the ground effect package. Only seen that in pictures. The fit on the cars I saw looked ok but the paint was much to be desired. Some serious orange peel. What was funny was it was worse on the orange car. Maybe they meant it (LOL).
I'm still waiting to drive one but I may wait till next year to see what improvements they make over the roll out ones.

I've been in the back seat of Iver. At 5'8" 240 I fit and I made someone sit in the front just to see If it could be done. I had to remove my ball cap as the headliner drove that button right into the top of my bald head, other than that I was OK back there but I didn't ride back there. If I recall you lose 3" to the sunroof option.

I have no sun roof and my 6'2" friend's head still hits in front. not sure how you fit in the back with a normal size person in the front. with the front seat in a normal position, there is literally ony 2 inches between the front of the back seat and back of the front seat. The front seat would have to be pushed way up.

I don't know, might be a different story if someone shut the door. I was talking to Buenymayor on the phone.

I agree with you on the guages. The console guages look great, but the radio and speedometer dont look so great. I like the exterior . Not sure about the rear view.

Jeff,

I think if the passenger in front put the seat back were it normally is (its tilted forward a bit in the pic), there is no way your knees would clear.

I have also driven one. With the drivers seat set in the correct position for me to drive, (I'm 5'9") there is literally about 3"-4" space between the back of the drivers seat and the front of the back seat. Not enough room for an adult to sit comfortably. This is definately a 2 passenger car, unless your going to have a couple of little kids sitting back there.

I like the car even more after seeing it in person. As a driver, it's one of the most comfortable cars I've sat in. The front buckets are really nice, you sit down into them, instead of on them. The plasticky pebbly grained dash on the passenger side looks cheap to me. Also not crazy about the gas fill being on the right side. Gonna be a real PITA to go to the opposite side of the pump from everyone else when filling up.

Lots of power on the V6 auto, for the most part, really impressed with the car. I like the look from the rear, side and front. I ordered one.

Are the 2010s a huge improvement over the 2002 SS ? Mainly the way the car drives and comfort ?

Jeff, you really had the seat moved all the way up for you to squeeze in there. My 8-year old could not fit his feet. Here is a pic when you have an average height human sitting in the front.

Also a pic of an average human sitting in the front seat :)
