Requires a special tool or two but those can be rented from local Auto Zone. Jeff Johnny B May 31st, 09, 12:34 PM No, the resistor does not come out. You have to use the proper key blank with the same resistance as the old key for the new key. That is if you are leaving your VATS intact and operational. If you defeated the VATS, then a plain key will do. no need for the resistor/chip. fwiw...The resistance of the key matches the BCM (Body Control Module). The column and switch have nothing to do with it other than providing the circuitry for the key resistor to the module.....Jb debbie May 31st, 09, 01:18 PM thank u |
