I have a 69 z28 that has a subframe that is in poor condition. What subframes will work with no modifications. I was told that the 69 was different than the 67-68 frames???? How about the nova frames are they the same or what is different about them? THANKS FOR RESPONCES

If I'm not mistaken, the subframes between the years were the same only the back half was different. So a 70-74 nova should bolt right in.

There are little differences between all of the years. Bump stop locations etc. If your car is a real Z/28 I would only use a used '69 subframe. If it is not original, or a real Z/28, I would look at the aftermarket subs that are readily available.

67-69 F body and 68-74 X boy (Nova) subframes are all physically interchangable, with minor differences in things like bumpstop locations and holes drilled for the bumper mounts. there are also a few different Pitman arm/center link/idler arm configurations, too.
but if you start with a different bare subframe, you can put all of your existing parts on it.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't know what direction to go with my 69 z28. It does not have the original motor but it only has 60,000 documented miles and is in great shape. It was one of the first ones built so it does not have the x codes which makes hard to prove its a true Z28. I beleave its a true z so I don't know if I should go with a after market subframe or keep it stock.

Has anyone used or seen the subframe that is on ricks first generation site. They say it is a reproduction of the original with some reinforcement in the crossmember. Can you tell the difference between there frame and the stock frame. Is it a nice piece and worth 1800.00?? THANKS

Counting the Camaros, Novas, Firebirds, Venturas, Apollos, Omegas (did I miss any?) there were easily way over 1,000,000 of the subframes produced. If you're patient, you can find a nice one for a couple hundred $$ or less.
