Hey guys, so my car has the Hotchkis TVS kit..
I'm suffering from a problem that most people on here seem to not have..
My tires are rubbing like crazy on the outside. I've seen people with 275's on the back, with the TVS kit.. and I cant get away with 245's..
It's the 15" rally rims.

Any clue whats wrong? I'm thinking of rolling the fender in a little bit.. it's touching by like 1/4 of an inch.. and its shredding my brand new tires.

Did the TVS kit lower your car a lot? It sounds like your rear backspacing is off.

Thats exactly what it looks like. I have like 3" of clearance on the inside but ZERO on the outside... and yeah it dropped the back like 1.5"-2.0"

But can I find the stock style 15" rim in the proper offset?

Try http://www.wheelvintiques.com/ They have a selection of steel wheels with 4.5" BS, which might be enough with 245's. You should probably measure what you have now to be sure.

The passenger side JUST clears..and the drivers side is about a half inch over..
I'm guessing the car has body work done..
How do I measure backspacing? [stupid question?] is that just the amount of rim that is behind where it bolts?

These cars weren't assembled with extraordinary precision; so a rear that's a bit off center shouldn't be a surprise. That said, it's possible you didn't get the rear spring perches perfectly over the locating bolt on the spring and moved the rear to one side a bit. If you can do so, I'd get the car on a lift or jackstands, loosen the u-bolts and confirm the leafs springs are properly located on the rear.

Also do a measurement of the rear width. You need to measure from brake drum to brake drum (were the wheel mounts) the overall width. If it has a Chevelle rear in it (seen it lots of times) that would cause your problem. The rear needs to be just a tad over 60" wide. A Chevelle rear is a couple inches wider.

You do need that 4 1/2" backspace. 4" will not work.
Rear a lil off center is not unusual. Someyimes you can "adjust" a lil by moving the front spring eye on the bushing. This is a press fit, but you can move it with a length of all thread, and various nuts, sockets, and peices of pipe.
