I just set my new 383 into my 86 iroc, and i plan on keeping the tuned port injection. the sticker under the hood says that timing should be set at 4 degrees, and the the electronics will take over from there. should i go along with that? the cam is a 214 degree at .480 lift. stock heads, flat top SRP's and 1.5 ratio rockers. i dont know what other info you might need...it has 1.94 valves if that helps...thanks.

my 86 tpi car is recommended @ 0 degrees... the ecm takes care of the timing from there... you can fudge it a little... 6-10* is what you usually hear folk talk about... just gotta see what it likes...

that 383 with stock tpi is gonna have a lot of low end...

the stock TPI LTR setup is not really meant to flow a big volume of air... it relies on velocity to make power... at rpms above what its designed for the flow is quite restricted, especially when you increase the cubes...

also you might look into getting a custom prom and some bigger injectors to feed it if you haven't done that already... lot of people are burning thier own proms now to fit their needs... just gotta figure out all the voodoo involved... lotta info out there for it tho...
