I bought a set of 69 Z/28 heater hoses from Pace Car Jeff, nice original reproductions. I put them on re-using my original tower clamps and I could not get the hoses on the radiatior with the clamps on, they were too tight. I bought larger tower clamps and now can not get the clamps seized down tight enough to stop the leaks. Does anyone know what size tower clamps to use for these heater hoses? Or what is the original size diameter tower clamp for this application.
Thanks,
Lawrence

Not me, but you reminded me why I took those things off in 1969.

Original whytek tower clamps 1&1/16" and 1&1/4". They are also dated.
A lot of the current reproduction tower clamps are bad quality IMO. The thickness of the material is usually thinner stock, also the bands are usually wider slightly. If you use them spray them with WD before you tighten them as this helps them slip (where they are crimped) and form to the hose.
You can use the original whytek clamps if you carefully back out the screw and then squeeze the clamp with pliers from the top to the inside to make the clamp bigger.

Good idea on the originals, I will try that first.

Gary, he mentions trying to attach the heater hoses to the radiator. I don't know about a 69, but on a 67 that would not make any sense. Heater hoses connect to the heater core, the water pump and the intake manifold. I think there's a bit of a mixup in the hoses being referenced.
