During my restoration process I now know I need a new steering box. It currently has a standard ratio manual box. Should I go with a fast ratio box as an upgrade, or is there more parts and/or PITA factor needed in order to go with this new setup? NPD has both boxes but it is seriously lacking additional info.

I would go with a fast ratio manual box or an AGR or High performance 3rd gen gen power steering box. Not a stock Fast ratio Power steering ! If you go power steering, you will need to change your pitman arm.

I put a fast ratio steering box on my 69 when I changed to PS. Yeah you have to
buy a new pitman arm but mine was so stuck on the old one would'nt come off.
I bought mine at napa for a lot less than npd or classic etc., very happy with
it.

I just changed my ps box to an AGR fast ratio and I couldn't believe the difference. It is well worth it, it bolted right up and looks great.

What is the original turn numbers for a 67 steering box with power steering? I can do about 3 1/2 turns, but then the wheels will rub against the frame.
Is the 4-4 1/2 turns box the original one?
I can only find variable ratio a 3-3 1/2 turn box.

the 'feel' on the DSE one is very good too, not overboosted, takes a lot of the twitchy feeling away.
