Iv'e got the 1986 IROC Camaro and need to get it tagged and inspected. It has a 350 L98 motor that is normally in an 89 firebird. The camaro is supposed to have 305 TPI/TBI motors or 350 fuel injected engines but this one is 350 with a carb. I need to know what to do to fix this problem if it is one, so i can the emission test. I already have a cat converter and gettin an air/smog pump and a new edlebrock air filter. What else should i need?

I don't know how strict they are in Texas, but in CA.,it would never even get past the visual...
Good luck with that!

Being a non-OBD II car they will most likely run it and use the tailpipe sniffer. I had a '90 model K5 in Atlanta that they didn't even do a visual on but maybe our emissions testing is looser than yours.
Best thing to do is just drive it by there and let them do what they want. Usually if you fail any part, you get the retest for free once you fix everything. At least it was in GA.

Warm it up real good and use FRESH gas if you can call it gas.
