tell me waht u guys think of this combo for my 67.its going to be a 383 stroker motor.eagle cast stroker kit with -5cc flat tops.heads are going to be afr 190's(not sure if i should go with 74 cc or 64 cc chambers let me know on that one)i have a few cams that i am looking at one is the lunati hr11 specs are @.050" dur intake:226 exh.234 lift @valve is intake.530 exh. .530 lobe sep 112deg. dd200 says 506ftlb@3500 rpm and 429hp@5000 rpm.now the other 2 cams are also lunati specs are pretty close to this one.this is going to be a tpi motor(ported out)and a t56 trans.this car will never see track time so i probably won't rev it past 5000rpm anyway.i know dd2000 is optimistic but what should i expect out of this combo in real life at the wheels?also looking to get about 10:1 compression.this is a HYDRAULIC roller cam by the way.let me know all of your opinions good and bad. i really want a killer street motor.also i have an accell dfi i am going to use on this.

Thats a big cam for a TPI motor, and should make good power, if youre using an aftermarket base, runners and ported plenum - the 383 should make over 400hp but tq should be around 550tq. I've seen similar setups (even milder) run mid 11s in vettes, but if yours is a 3rd gen, then it wont 60ft like a vette. high 11s are still possible, if you've got the rest of the car setup well, and with a 6spd, the mph should be good. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If you will be running flat top pistons in a 383 go for the larger 74cc heads. I run flat tops with 64cc heads in my 383 and my compression is a hair over 11:1 --- way too much for the cam you mention.
A zero decked block with a .040 thick head gasket makes 9.97:1 compression with 74cc heads.

wow great info guys thanks!!i was thinking like i said of running the stock tpi setup and port it out.of course get a 52mm or 58 mm tb and aftermarket runners.so do u guys think that the stock tpi setup is a waste, even ported out?money is definatly a concern.let me know any opinions.man i love this site!!!!
