View Full Version : Payback in Race Trim (Forgelines)
Vegas69 Jun 13th, 09, 10:32 AM Frank at Prodigy Customs cut me a deal on these wheels and tires I just couldn't pass up. Scott Main at Forgeline is awesome to work with and I had my wheels and tires in under 30 days! These are the ZX3R racing wheels with titanium bolts. I lost over 10lbs per rear wheel and the front weigh the same even though they are 1.5 inches wider. I have to say I really love both looks. This makes the car look so sinister. Autocross tonight, so hopefully I can stick a little better in the corners with my new R888's. I can't wait to mat it tonight.:D

69TAPoser Jun 13th, 09, 11:24 AM Damn beautiful car. :beers: Love the R888s. You better put some mud flaps behind those bad boys. LOL
Is that a 19" rear wheel in street trim?
I hope mine comes out as nice.
Phil
Vegas69 Jun 13th, 09, 01:47 PM I'll tape it up before the race and plan to run the clear bra soon behind the tires. That is a 19 out back. Thanks for the comments.
CROMAN69Z28 Jun 13th, 09, 05:33 PM i think you could put wooden wagon wheels on her and it would look killer. that is some of the deepest black ive seen in a while.
Mkelcy Jun 13th, 09, 06:31 PM Todd - I just noticed your blacked out window trim. It really adds to the look of the car.
Are those factory pieces that have been painted/powder coated, are they flexible window trim with stock glass, or did you get one of the flush mount window kits?
DOUG G Jun 13th, 09, 06:57 PM Damn that looks good :beers:

Car is looking fantastic. Every time I see it, it looks better and better. Come to think of it, it would even look better from my rear view mirror. :D Just kiddin' bud! Awesome car.

Thanks boys:beers: LOL....took out a Super Snake tonight on the way back from the autocross at Primm. You better be packing some heat. How's your project coming? Where are you in town? Like to see you car.
Mike....it's factory trim painted semi flat. I really don't car for the flush mount. I feel it changes the proportions of the car.

We scuffed sanded the trim with 400 wet paper, used a light coat of self etching zinc primer and used semi gloss black on them. We actually used all spray bomb products, we did not want a treal thinck build up of materiael and wanted something that could be fixed by the end user should something horrific chip a moulding. They have been holding up real good though.
dhutton Jun 14th, 09, 06:57 AM Awesome car and wheels. The paint on your car looks flawless.

Frank - Thanks for the detail. I've got a '67 that may be getting painted flat black, and the black moldings would be perfect for the look I'm going for.
Vegas69 Jun 14th, 09, 09:34 AM Yep, they are holding up just fine. I think they are semi flat though not semi gloss. I get lot's of comments on the paint job. It's really deep.

Had a Ford for dinner last night did ya? :D I'm in the northwest near Alliante. Car is coming along. Trying to finish up everything underhood, wiring ect. then on to the exhaust and some minor details. Hope to be done by mid fall. Time is never on my side.
