I installed a set of Competiton Engineering Slid-a-links on my 67 and I hate how bad they rattle during normal driving. Does anyone have a fix that would help? I thought I would love these but I actually think I like the old traction bars better.

How did you set them up? Is there a gap between the bushing and the rear tube stop? I have mine set so that the flat part of the rear tube just touches the bushing. I also lubed up the inner tube with synthetic grease.

I am running caltracs and love them! If you set them up with the 1/4 turn of preload you dont get the rattling

Thanks guys! Yes I'm running a 1/4 inch gap. The direction stated only preload when using the race set up and leave a gap for normal street use. I'll try a little preload and see if that helps but won't it stiffin the ride a lot?

Ah no. It will only take out the slack and slop.
