So, what is it, an LT rebadged to an SS or an SS with an LT hood?
What body kit are you talking about, it's got aftermarket panels on it?

Sorry, I am not up to speed on 5th gens yet, only interested if/when the drop top version is available. I have my (imaginary) order in on this one:

All hoods are the same on Camaros regardless of model. You mentioned that you are unfamiliar with the new Camaro but I am surprised by how many people think the only difference between the fascia of an SS or an LT/LS is the mail slot.

Well seeing as you are in Ottawa you might find this hard to believe, but there are very few 2010 Camaro's in the real world to compare too. My local dealer has exactly zero, and I have yet to see an SS and LS side by side. The pictures at chevy.com are great glamour shots, but are also difficult to discern the differences between the two.

BTW, did you answer my question? because I still don't get it.

Hylton my dealer just got an additional allotment of 10 more cars. Both RS SS one black and one red. The red car is not sold..... yet

I did go in and do away with the sun roof as we discussed but I also changed the color. I changed from the grey met to the inferno orange... I just had to do it !

Correct, GM blew this just like they did with the 4th gen, same hood for both cars. IMO the SS should have the fake cowl hood only. While I understand having the same hood helps keep costs down, at a glance driving down the street it takes a keen eye to tell the SS from the LT.

Good point about the LT and SS front fascias. In their defense, there are members who frequent the 5th gen forums who aren't able to see the other difference either ;)

Here is an example, the Camaro on the left is an SS, note the obvious fake mail slot in the header. The car on the right is the LT (V6), look closely at the bottom of each fascia, there are subtle differences between the two.

Looks like you had the mail slot filled in on your car?

Lol! It is a crazy color! I want to see an IOM car with polished wheels and a 1 inch drop.

Yep! Just waiting for Stephano's hood. ;) Like you eluded to, the fake mail slot locks the buyer into the design and prevents them from putting a functional air induction hood on the car. Car will look stupid with a fake induction mail slot AND real induction hood. Get ready for it Joe - your going to be seeing those running around the neighborhood.

Here's another angle showing the differences in the lower front fascia's between the V6 and V8 cars:

OK Hylton, We have compared the fascia between the SS and LT and YOUR car has the SS fascia, but no mailslot! It does not look like you filled and repainted it, so how did you get it done!?!? :)

Here's my secret:

1. Start with an SS fascia from GM.
2. Find yourself a doner bumper made of the same material.
3. Cut 2 pices out of the doner bumper which cover each side of the mail slot.
4. Melt pieces into one another.
5. Sand down flush after the weld.
6. Finish and paint.

I saved the original front fascia if I want to go back to original but it is the exact same part as the one I started with.

For me, those L88 style hoods only look good on vintage Corvettes, just my $.02 :D

Oh yes!

Hylton I am not a huge fan of polished wheels so I will have to take a look at that. I thought about black monochromatic finish with matching stirpes and I also thought about body color , all are part.... I really need to get the car and be able to look at it in person before I decide on what to do for wheels. I opted not to pay Chevy 5K for the 20" wheel upgrade.

PS- Hylton... is there anything left of that donor bumper :)

You mean the 21" wheel upgrade. You get the 20 inchers standard. Yeah - that's an insane price. You can get some serious exotic wheels custom made for that price.

So you like the mail slot delete huh? Already have a mailbox at home?
