Getting pretty close to needing to decide on a vinyl top or not. This car will be Daytona Yellow with the black stinger hood. I think the black vinyl roof would go great with the black stinger, but wouldn't it look "racier" without the vinyl top. I've also thought about painting the roof black but adding the metal trim around the roof, as a vinyl top would have. There is a killer '67 Corvette with black stinger on another thread that is the same color scheme as I'm gonna have. I hope to have Aaron post that Corvette pic here for reference. thanks guys. (NOTE: the hood will be yellow; stinger will be black with yellow edging. Also, stinger will be "opened" to allow air flow.

I vote no top. It would break up the car, more but It would take the look away from the hood. IMO

I like vinyl tops so i vote yes on the top. I am going to get one put on my butternut yellow Nova as well.

No on the Vinyl top and yes on painting the roof along the same lines as the vinyl top would lay. :thumbsup:

I am not sure anyone else will vote for the painted top. I am also not sure about adding the chrome if you paint the roof.

Always been a fan of the yellow and black combo. I have the stinger hood and silver with black stripe on the hood. I too felt like it needed something and concidered painting the roof black also. I ended up using a similar stripe on my rear deck that is on the hood. Kind of like some motion cars had but did not have the stripe go on the roof. If you like I can load some more pics on photobucket. Kind of a generic pic on my info page. I used to live in Sapulpa and graduated high school at Charles Page in Sand Springs just outside of Tulsa. Named mark too. Keep us posted on what you do. Just remember you have to live with it. I think it better to be a little different so it sets you apart. Granted the yellow and black will do that also. I am positive what ever you do it will look great. mark

I have a 1969 Hugger Orange SS w/vinyl. If you decide to go vinyl,do your homework good for installation. The guy that did mine did'nt run the alum. trim all the to the front and there is a gap. but I like my combo.

Honestly with that Stinger Hood Scheme It would probably look better without though .You already have one with a vinyl right ?
