I would try and test whatever dye you choose on an expendable piece of material first. I have used two different types of dyes. One that rubbed off after 6-8 months and another that is still like new after years. I just can't remember which one is the good one.
Get some recommendations because it would suck to mess up your original panels.

You can re-dye them and have it last for along time if you prep them properly, and use the right dye.
First wipe them down with a wax and grease remover, then wash them down with warm water and dish soap and a soft (the softer the better) scrub brush. Dry them off and use a good adhesion promoter like BULLDOG or SEM's prep. I recomend SEM's vinyl dye(have had great luck with it) and use light even coats.
