I just replaced all the window felt on my 69 camaro. Everything went well except for the driverside rear quarter window. When I put the outer felt, I had to remove the little rivet or whatever its called in the front of the felt because it interferred with the window going down. I removed the rivot and installed a screw to pull the felt closer to the quarter panel. Still, when I lower the window the chrome window trim starts to separate from the front of the quarter window. Pass side fit fine and didn't have this problem. Can you adjust the postion of the window in the channel?

Just read your post.

Were you able to adjust the window so the chrome trim doesn't start come off?

Replaced the window felts on my car recently, have the same problem.

Thanks,
Jeff

Do mean the window doesn’t stay in the center of the opening when it’s rolled down? It sounds like your saying the chrome trim is coming loose from the window but that hasn't nothing to do with the felts.

I never fixed my issue as I rearly use the back quarter window.

Rogerh,

I know my problem is with the window position and not the window felt itself. I only noticed the issue after installing new window felt. The new window felt I put on had a little rivot on the quarter panel side. I had to remove the rivet as it was binding on the window. Every time I lower the window, there is so much resistence between the felt and the window, the chrome trim on the window falls off as I open the window. I'm pretty sure I need to reglue the chrome trim, but the window is not centered in the opening. The pass side if fine, just have this problem with the driverside rear window. I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the window so it is in the center of the opening.

Maybe the thread will help.
