If it is in the budget and you don't minding cutting your car go for the mini-tub. I posted my experience mini-tubbing here:

245 vs 335 sized tires:

Rear end raised up (was doing alignment) but a good shot just how wide 335s are:

For 600hp I think the only way you have of reasonably hooking up is to go a lot wider on the rear tires. If you want you can save some money and get 18x11 or 17x11 and go with 315 width tires. Can save a lot of money since 12 or higher have to be widened.

Bigger tire look cool and are the cheap way out... lots of money in the suspension and guys are running 7's on 10.5" tires. Your call.

Not the fairest comparison when he can get a 275 on the back of a '69 without a mini-tub...

Obviously the wider tire has more bite. But at 600HP, any street tire loses anyway. Were it me, I would mini tub everyone of them

A lot of good info. I was thinking about 18x12's. i don't want the car to look like a dragster just want it to rip when asked to. Is there any issue with suspention travel?

You are right, just that pic was an easy comparison for me since they are my rear tires and front respectively ;)

No travel issues at all as long as you nail the back space and rear width. 335s, even 345s (18s, 19s, 20s) clear just fine if it is all done right.
