How much gap do most of you guys have between your fender and the firewall. You know, one of the bolt holes that bolts to front of firewall on each side. When I adjust my fenders I get about 1/4 to 1/2 space left over for a shim. Does that sound right?

I'm using Goodmark fenders and ended up with no shims/no gap at the firewall. Even at that, I have more of a door/fender gap than I wanted. I have about 1/4" on the factory driver door and almost 5/16" on the reskinned passenger door. I don't remember what the fender/rocker panel gap was but it's pretty tight there.

So, no shims on mine.

Every car seems different. I have no gap on one side and 1/8's on the other. Seems a little big, but I say go with whatever's necessary to align the doors and front clip.

None there and none on top and 1 shim probably 1/8 inch on the door pillar on the drivers side. I should have made that 0 but i didnt want to start over on beating my door when i already had it done. I will probably glue a washer onto the fender.
