The rear pass side corner of my trunklid (by the rear tailpanel) sits about 1/4" high.
I've read many threads but if I shim the rear hinge bolt, will it drop that corner or the entire pass side? I only want to level the rear of the trunk lid. TIA.

try twisting it first where both sides are even and then readjust the catch

When I take the new metro weatherstripping out it sat fine so it seems the weatherstripping is holding it up. Will it settle a bit?

It's possible the weatherstrip needs to settle.
It's also possible that the weatherstrip channel is high in that area.
Since you have removed the weatherstripping you could do some checking to see if the channel it up too high. One way of doing it would be to take some play dough and make some little mounds of it and placing it in a few spots in the channel and by then placing some plastic wrap on top and then closing the trunk lid you can squiss the putty down. If it sits high in an area, push down on the lid in that area to lower it and squish the putty down further and then open the trunk lid. Now you can measure and see if all of the globs are the same thickness off of the weatherstrip channel.
Another way is to get into the trunk and close it and then measure the gap in spots between the weatherstrip channel and the underside of the trunk lid.

Thanks. The seal is in completely so I suspect the channel. I'll try tweaking the lid. Thanks again.
