View Full Version : Father's day weekend plans
keypilot Jun 19th, 09, 01:11 PM First off, happy father's day to all the fellow dads here.
does anyone have any interesting things planned? I woke up this morning to 200* hot water from my shower. i realized the thermostat went crazy so i killed the power. but it was too late 1 of the pvc lines got so hot it started leaking. (should be HPVC but this was in the house when we bought it). so i am leaving work a little early to replace the T-stat and repair leaks. tomorrow I will get to cut the grass and vacuum the pool :hurray:.
Most importantly though my boys will be with me all weekend. 5 and 2 yrs old, they amaze me everyday. my wife got the weekend off so I may get a nice dinner too.
Skeeter55 Jun 19th, 09, 01:21 PM Thank you Mark,
Happy Fathers day to you as well....
My family and i are going out to a Club House Party for Fathers Day. Its from my sons Baseball Team and the fun raiser/sponsors we all helped put together. The Camaro is just siting and waiting for me to drive, hopefully on Saturday.
rojo Jun 19th, 09, 01:30 PM Going to see my Dad and enjoy my Moms cooking on Sunday. Hope to see my Son sometime over the weekend as well.

You know why we even have "Father's" day don't you
Because about a month after 'Mother's Day one of our Great Grandfathers went "HEY - WAIT A MINUTE" l:)
A big X2 on the wish for all the Dad's on here to have a great day with their families and friends :beers:
My plans are about like your's - clean the pool and hot tub, clean out a flower bed, fix a leak in a fuel or vent line on the Olds (failed it's 'Fuel System Integrity' check  ) and some minor painting ...
Then the misses is going to let me BBQ anything I want for dinner :stirpot:
Actually celebrated 'Dad' day last weekend while we were with my kids (and their families) up at the lake last weekend
Fun weekend with them - but I spent most my time working on the boats, pier and cabin ...
camaroman7d Jun 19th, 09, 02:54 PM Happy Fathers Day. My plans include wet sanding and primer. I have no idea what the wife and kids have up their sleave. I'm not big on celebrations so hopefully it won't be anything major.
zlek131 Jun 19th, 09, 02:55 PM Maybe dip the boat for first time this season! (after I clean it)
SixtyAte Jun 19th, 09, 04:41 PM Happy Fathers Day. My plans include wet sanding and primer. I have no idea what the wife and kids have up their sleave. I'm not big on celebrations so hopefully it won't be anything major.
Royce... I am not big on celebrations either so it should be a quiet day. A cook in because its going to rain here ( almost 50 days in two months) and the grill in in my garage. I will be installing a Hurst Line Lock in the 68 this weekend after work Saturday and finish after work on Sunday if its not done. All Dads,, take it easy and enjoy your day.

You do have a TPR valve on there, right? You don't want this happening:

JimM Jun 19th, 09, 06:30 PM Sunday morning we are leaving on (hopefully not ) The Vacation from Hell!
My wife, myself, and Dann (17) and Brian (11) will be saddling up the new to us motorhome and heading west for 3 and 1/2 WEEKS! We'll hook up with Mark and Sandra and the girls next thursday, Mr.DanB and his girl on Friday, and whoever wants to for the following two weeks.
Royce, I see you still don't check your PM's... Are you coming to Shasta to see us? We'll be really bummed if you don't. Steve (eville) has all ready cancelled out due to too busy with the house and such, and we haven't really heard from anyone else.
I do hope to hook up with BPOS at some point.
I know we haven't advertised this trip quite as hard as previous years, but that doesn't mean we don't want some company. Give a holler, and we'll see what can be set up.

You're gonna get that Buick in paint yet aren't you :D
Remember, HAN is just 6 weeks away ;)
I have to agree on the 'celebration' thingy - don't need a big fuss on my b-day, father's day or any other day as far as I'm concerned. :noway:
Wife just doesn't get it :pout:
On 'her' days she exspects
I comply :D

HOLY CRAP! yes it has a pressure valve but the tank is old and now that is it going again it looks like the bottom is damp. that little extra heat is all it needed to start it leaking. thinking about a tankless HWH.
meanwhile the house is for sale and 2 people want to see it this weekend after months with no calls.
zuma Jun 19th, 09, 07:21 PM This is my, "pull the old electric wall heaters out of the 3 bathrooms and drywall patch, tape & texture Fathers Day weekend"...Oh boy am I stoked! ;)
SY1 Jun 19th, 09, 09:15 PM Maybe a minor league baseball game Saturday night, it's fireworks night. Sunday maybe the drag races. I know what I'm NOT doing, working on ANY aircraft (including phone calls), replacing the rack and pinion in my son's Explorer or yard work. All that stuff can wait. Even if I don't do the ball game or races it'll be a sucess by not doing the other three things!
Happy Father's Day guys!
ls427ss Jun 20th, 09, 05:47 AM My plans are the same as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that...... I used to work for a good friend of mine by the name of Steve Elstins at West Coast Muffler in Concord Ca and in 1989 he decided to have a car show to let the customers strutt their stuff and show a little love. (every day @ work was a car show anyway) I asked him why Fathers day, and he told me "Who's gonna tell Dad he can't go to a car show on Fathers Day?" Hell of a good point, but anyway this will be the 20th annual and it's always a blast.
And HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all you other Dads... I hope you all will have as much fun as I am going to !!
DOUG G Jun 20th, 09, 06:48 AM Was going to hit a local car show (small show at a church on Rt 152 in Harford Co,Md),Also supposed to have about 30 people over (daughters Softball team awards party) this afternoon... ITS POURING DOWN RAIN
