Lately a few of my long time bookmarks have lost their link data and I can not delete the bad links. The properties prompt has no data and will not accept any data or changes

I am now starting to get quite a few dead bookmarks that I can not delete.

Any ideas on what to do? It's Firefox 3.0.11

Close Firefox completely (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application)
Open the Firefox profile folder (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox)
Delete or rename all files named "places.sqlite", including "places.sqlite-journal" and any "places.sqlite.corrupt" files, if found.

When you restart Firefox, "places.sqlite" will be rebuilt and your bookmarks will be automatically restored from the latest JSON bookmark backup (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarkbackups_folder); however, your browsing history will be lost
