I got a lot of help from these forums so I wanted to show you guys my restored interior. I started out just wanting to redo a hacked up wiring job (thanks to POs) and ended up gutting the entire interior to replace all the electrical, weld in a new floor pan and spot treat some other rust, install a new console, Vintage Air (half-finished) and a bunch of other stuff.

I wanted to get the interior more original looking, hence replacing the aftermarket steering wheel with an original style, replacing the aftermarket gauges with a new center console, etc.

I also gutted those horrible stock kick-panels and wrapped them in vinyl (after blocking off the ducts). They aren't perfect and at some point I will probably make new fiberglass kick panels that look a little nicer. It's just one of those things that works fine for now and I'd rather focus on other things. I have pictures of the process if anyone is interested.

Let me know what you think.

I used a Rustoleum semi-flat black (not sure which product line). They have another kind which is a semi-gloss which I started with and it didn't spray well, or look right (and bubbled like crazy). If you want to know exactly what it is I can find out because it came out very nicely and did an awesome job of covering imperfections. The dash does not look like your typical rattle can job at all.

Nice! I hope my 68 turns out that nice.

Funny how a little wiring repair can turn into a complete Interior restore. I always have small intentions that turn into a full blown project. :)

Looks nice! Did you redo the dash pad or get a new one? If you got a new one - where?

The dash pad was in the car when I bought it. It looks to be in too good of condition to be original, but it also fits too well to be a reproduction. I have no idea.

I don't know if these Forums are a good idea, cause I look thru them to find what my next project will be and now Ive decided after viewing yours it will be to install the console and tidy up the interior and while Im at it Im going to build a new rear parcel shelf with integrated speakers and Hi Stop tail light.

But all that said and done yours looks great..
