I was reading my dirty, dog-eared copy of H.P.BOOKs "How to Hotrod Small Block Chevys" and I had forgotten what a wealth of info. the old book has in it concerning the 302 motor!!

It has graphs of different setups that show 450hp and higher out of the little bugger in full race trim!!

Sure, it is an obsolete book compared to the newer ones, but if you forget about the SB's roots, you will make the same mistakes that the older guy's learned the hard way not to make again...

Might pick up a copy if it is still in print??

It's even got info on rod strength/fatigue tests to put your mind at ease wondering if a SB rod can take it!!

Is that the one with the funny looking shorty headers on the cover? I vaguely remember that book....

My copy is pretty worn at this point. The Chevy Power manual is pretty good too. Not a lot of hype in those older books. I like those, Smokeys books, and some of Vizards books are good too.
