Rewired a AA kit and blow the 5 amp Guage fuse when trying to start the car?any ideas?

Remove the fuse and install either a 12V bulb or use a test lamp in place of the fuse. The lamp should be glowing brightly due to your short circuit somewhere. Then start disconnecting things like the big plug to the instrument panel or big connector to the console. When you get the light to either go out or dim down, you've isolated the circuit branch where the short lives. Once you do that you'll have to study the circuit closely until you find the short. For example, if the instrument cluster is where the short lives, you may end up having to disconnect individual guages looking for the short. I suspect there may be another load tapped into the guage circuit that is at fault, or perhaps a miswire on one of the console guages etc.
