I got a 3 3/4 autometer tach and im looking for ideas.
Its wont fit on the columb for obvious reasons.
where ya got yours mounted and how did ya do it?

You could bolt it to the driver's side windshield pillar. Other choices are the hood, the console, the bottom of the dash, and the top of the dash. I don't like any of those options. Personally, I'd by a smaller tach and mount it on the top of the column with a stainless steel band clamp. Another option, though more $$, replace the fuel gauge with the factory tach and then move the fuel gauge to the center (clock) opening.

on the console isnt an option either.
already have gages there.

OK found a suitable location on the A pillar.
made a bracket and gage is solid.

Can you post a picture of your tach after you mounted it to the pillar. I have a 67 coupe and I'm trying to decide where I want to mount it.

Mines a 3 3/4" I'm pretty sure, and it will mount on the column. I put mine on there with a shift light next to it, I wanted it all hidden from the outside so I just mounted the tach in front of the right factory guage, you can still see the fuel gauge and the turn signal if placed just right.

For many yrs I had my tach mounted with plastic clips in the grill outside the windscreen.
I dismantled and sealed with silcone.
No body damage, easy to read.
