: Should I sell my gauges or not?

As some of you know I'm building a twin turbo setup for my car. I'm in need of more gauges and space. I currently have a covans dash that holds 4 gauges plus speedo and tach. I need 3 more gauges. I currently have the stock console gauges. I'm not using 3 of the 4. I want to get the autometer pod, but not sure if I should sell the gauges to get it. The car never came with a console or gauges, I put them there. Should I keep and put them aside and save my money or try to sell?

I think most use a Mustang pod and trim the one end... I know more than a few have done it... just not me.

I don't have those gauge pods but heard of some that used a mustang pod with the one end trimed.... I'm looking on LS1 tech and G Machines for a pic.

Here's what I found...
It's an Autometer pillar pod that's for Mustangs. It fits really well, and would look great if the finish matched my A-pillar. The pod has a grain finish on it (like a 68 or 69) and my '67 has a smooth finish. It was supposed to be temporary fix so I had somewhere to mount my shift light and boost gauge. I plan to have one custom made for a cleaner look.

I'm not sure what years it is supposed to fit, but it is part# ATM-10100.

I just stuck it to my A-pillar with heavy duty double sided tape, and drilled a hole behind it to run my wires through. To answer your question, I did not modify it in any way and it fits fine. You could make it fit very nice if you wanted to mold it using a heat gun. I didn't bother since the finish doesn't match my '67 and I plan to change it anyways.

How about this. Move the volt and fuel gauges into the glove box and put the boost and oil temp gauges in their place

I had that before. My LM1 is in the glove box. I also HAD gauges in the glove box and always had it open to look at them. My dash gauges will have Speedo, Tach, Air fuel, Fuel pressure, Boost and fuel level. Console I'm looking at Oil pressure, Temp Volts and Tranny temp. I'd like to see them all since theres alot going on with a twin turbo setup.

Marc - the factory style console gauges really don't go with what you have already done. Unless you plan to put the car back to stock speedo etc or have another car for them they will just collect dust on a shelf. If you can afford to get what you want and set those aside no big deal. Even if you get the pillar pod and mount auto meters in it you should remove the saw tooth factory 4 as there is no visual benefit from having them there with your upgraded look.

Yea so far with the covans and the custom pods I think the Autometer center gauges will look good. I have around $450 into them between the gauge pod, harness and temp sensor. I don't want to take a beating for sure.

Just proce out what you have at a couple repro sites and set your price just lower to make them attractive to a buyer after shipping is factored in... Use the classifieds here when you are ready, you won't believe how fast stuff moves...
