After much debate with myself I decided that I wanted something a little different under the hood. After researching quite a bit I decided on a 427 SB with lots of low end torque and mid range power using modern components.

Ended up working with M&R Motors http://www.mandrengines.com/ . Matt worked through all of the details with me and built/dynoed/shipped me a heck of a nice motor.

With the help of a couple buddies we dropped in and had it running in an evening. Nothing quite like the sound of open headers at 12:30am on a cool summer evening !

Very nice there bud. Didn't know they made 427 small blocks!

They have been built for years using a 400 block but I opted for the modern route and chose a combination that used a Dart SHP block bored to 4.125 and RHS aluminum heads.

What did they dyno it at the flywheel? I'm running a 406.

527 CHP @ 5400 / 588 CTQ @4100 . A little more than the 327 that was in it. ;)

588 CTQ @4100

Holy shredded tires Batman. Looks like a recipe for copious tire smoke in any gear.

Enjoy!

Guess you would have to define corrected for me. They are what was listed as crank HP & TQ on the Dyno report provided.

Corrected = at sea level

it's a mathmatical formula that they use to get "corrected" numbers.
