Oh think I Posted the trim tag for the 69 RS/SS not the Yenko

Unreal

I think Tim is referring to the white interior. Also, most were w/o style trim, but a few had it.

You did notice in the ad the word "replica" right? Nice car nonetheless.

The Mecum page says its a replica, and it's not listed in the top 10 sales from the auction (# 10 was $135K)

The gentleman w/the "Yenko" sounds like the typical look at me and what i have instead of enjoying the hobby for what its for. Too bad for him...:(

Pretty car, but even for a "replica" there were many incorrect details. The original color on the tag was 59 frost green. Looks like a fun car, too bad he had to BS it.

That is the problem with clones, they seem to become more real with every sale.

From JimM...

I'm on vacation, so just don't.
I refuse to take time off my holiday for finesse moderation. Turkey is passing off a 60k clone as a 200k rfeal deal. nuff said.

you guys on this forum never seem to stop amazing me. you are like a bunch of jealous old woman. what gives anyone the right to post a vin from a car seen at a car show and then go on to pipe up about what he paid and how incorrect the car is? I would love to know how many people on this site have $60000 cars? not many for sure. in fact ( aside from a few) by going thru these forums all one can see is a bunch of know-it alls with not much in the car department at all. stop all of the BS about what all you people know and what everyone else doesn't, and worry about your own cars. all those REAL, MATCHING NUMBER with DOCS camaros that you all have. LOL

Don't have any 60k cars but have a few 600k cars.. does that count ?

The guy lied about his car. He deserves all the criticism he is getting.

Tibbsy and Chuckles... you guys are missing the point.

You are only allowed to criticize cars on the internet if you have #s/paper, high-dollar cars. Just a WAG, but I would say neither of you two have anything in your garages that would give you room to talk. Just sayin'...

Was there such as thing as COPO 9561 #63 recorded somewhere? I know COPO 9560 #63 is known. But the iron block cars did not have recorded VINs did they?

I guess he opened himself up for ridicule when he lied about the price he paid when the real price is on the internet.

Joe58, the cars don't lie. The owners do.

he may be talking about the Yenko stock number that Yenko Sports Cars used and is included with the docs on some Yenko cars.
The Yenko stock number would be something like YS-9063

Amazing that you never saw a Yenko or COPO when they were new in 69, but now there's one at every car show!!

While I'm not a fan of bickering here on the boards (there seems to be quite a bit of it going on in this section, especially). I also don't see the point in someone blatantly lying about his vehicle. It's kind of stupid. The car should and can be enjoyed for what it is. But, there's always going to be people who lie, cheat and steal, so the best thing to do is educate yourself and avoid them like the plague.

And I will wager those two have some pretty nice rides, if my memory serves me correctly.

I was pretty sure he and Van were friends also (at least I know they've talked) and wasn't sure if it was a 'one-of-those-days' post or something had changed ...

Glad I could be of assistance. I take full responsibility for any and all of Dave's inappropriate behavior due to the negative influence I have had upon him. I won't, however, take credit for anything he does right because that would give others pause that I might have contributed to the forum.

On another note: The Yenko - I am admittedly a novice on the car scene, but what's right is right, and what's wrong is, well... not right :D - Misrepresentation, in all it's form, is nothing less than childlike mentality. If a guy is misrepresenting a car, it should be known... ESPECIALLY on a board devoted to those cars. Who knows... it just might save someone a lot of grief some day from getting burned by a fake being passed off as a real car.......... not that THAT ever happens
