wondering if i need to hook up the kickdown cable on th350 if using ratchet shifter. I thought i wouldn't need to have it but then been told that not hooking it up can mess up the trans. Also what is the vacuum line for on the trans?

Kickdown cable commands the trans to downshift when at WOT from cruise; no cable, no downshift, not being hooked up won't hurt anything.

Vacuum line to vacuum modulator is for part throttle upshift/downshift. No hookup, trans relies on governor to upshift, very late shifting, i.e., 4800-5200 rpm.

I have a B&M Mega shifter... I like shifting myself (auto/manual valve body) but when you have a soda in one hand and the steering wheel in the other... auto is nice :o

Thanks, i'm not going to bother with the kickdown cable, but i probably should hook up the vacume line. My stealth is a manual with no cup holders so i'm used to it. I have very hard time trying to figure out the hurst shifter, i got my Camaro driving today but my park turned out to be reverse

If Park equals reverse, seems like alittle adjustment is needed in the shift cable department.

For other's safety as well as yours, you should adjust it.
