He slept at a Holiday inn last night.

There are a lot of on line research areas to get the info. camaros.org is a good one to sart with.

Assembled Aug 29th at Tonawanda. Originally was mated to a manual transmission, too.

Cool, should be a 323 block 2 bolt main.I have the same motor but is a later motor.TO423MX 18N426775 is on engine pad.Block is a 440 block. This motor in my garage came out of a 1968 Camaro SS 396 4 speed car from NJ.Car could still be out there that motor originally came from.

Thanks for all of the help guys.. We but a bore gauge on it today, and it has never been bored... Hard to believe but I guess we will clean it up, put it together, and go go go.. Hopefully...

Be carefull with a 2 bolt main. I would not do much ground pounding with it!!!!!!!!!

Not to be antagonistic, but 2 bolt main will be OK to hamer on. If you are really going to rev it, you might consider studding the main caps. It's just some extra insurance.

I looked it up in a book I wrote back in the late 1980's, (while staying at a Holiday Inn, LOL.)

Jay,
I'd be interested in a picture of those stamped numbers if possible. No hurry. :)

Thanks!

I took some tonight, but my camera sucks... I'll try to get some good ones this weekend..

I plan on making a nice daily driver out of my 69, and really got lucky to find this engine.. I have been looking for an engine for a long time... Now I can try to find a 12 bolt..
I know its gona cost big bucks though...

Do yourself a favor have your machine shop balance the motor, helps alot!

I see you listed the engine over at CRG in the orphans section. I was going to suggest that. Maybe you'll get lucky and the owner of the car will find you. If so, you will be able to buy another BB and possibly a 12 bolt rear, too. Plus reunite the engine with it's original car! :hurray:

Thant would be great.. I guess its kind of like finding a needle in a haystack so to speak.. I wish I could locate my original...
