What do you guys think? I have a 67 camaro 12 bolt posi with the single traction bar bracket. The axle tube on the side of the traction bar bracket is bent. Is this rear junk or can I have it straightened or a new axle tube put in? I would hate to throw this thing in the junk pile.

Thanks,
Tony

It can be fixed. How did it get bent and where is it bent?

The guy that I bought the car from said that he hit a curb. It is bent where the flange is welded to the axle tube. The area of the axle tube that tapers to the flange where the backing plate bolts.

The end could be cut off and a new end welded on. If this is done right it would be strong and not noticable. You could cut the end off of a 10 bolt and use it. A housing fixture is required to get everything straight.
