I'm looking for a set of headers identical (or similar) to the ones GM provided as an option in 68 that were delivered from the factory in the trunk and dealer installed. I have searched the web without success.....any ideas guys? Thanks in advance.

yep, but those are the ones.
you can get them from TAPERFRESTO, or Heartbeat City.
i've owned both sets, (the 67 set and teh 68 set)
if your car has powersteering, you'll either have to run the 67 version (and move your temp sender) or if you use the 68 Kustom version, you'll have the dent one of the primary tubes to clear the powersteering box.
if you have manual steering, then the 68 versions fit perfect...
getting the driver side on required unbolting the motor mount and lifting the motor pretty high.
good luck

i debated on using the Z headers again on my 69.
I decided on a set of Stahl's instead.
they make a model 106 and i got mine in 1 5/8-1 3/4 stepped with a weld on collector.
they fit great, plug clearance is about a foot, LOL and no issues with Powersteering or anything... the only issue... mine being a 69 has a reverse lockout arm on the column that i had to remove.. on a 68, it shouldn't be there (unless you have a column ****er- but wouldn't on a Z)

Nope all original, it has the cowl plenum from the factory, thought I'd add the headers to complete the package. I have the POP and paperwork researched back to the original owner. (I'm # 8) The car was sold new from Larry Smith Chevrolet in Charlotte NC. My car has a May build date and sold in June 68.
