Hey Paul

361959

454 73-76 passenger
454 75-85 truck

mortec lists it as 73-90 http://www.mortec.com/bbc.htm

T1117tsm is a tonawanda motor assembled november 17th...perhaps someone here knows the tsm code..tells you what vehicle it went in..

The block will have a date code at the back of block which will tell you month and year of casting( maybe J4- oct 74). The other number appears as vin which should also help but I cant decode..have a good holiday...

Something doesn't figure here.I'm looking at a chevy with this engine and seller tells me it is a 427 and the block date is 5-19-70.They didn't make this block in 1970 did they?I also don't know what TSM stands for.I did find CSM that decodes to a 73 chevelle 400ci.Would the T stand for truck and be a 73 truck block? Could use some further info on this. thanks Paul

TSM 1975 454 215 Truck LS-4 VIN Z, L, 20, 30
TSM 1977 454 250 Truck LF-8 VIN S, 10

Need to check the date code again.454 and 427 use the same block crank. and pistons are different. If it's a 427 someone used a 454 block to build one.
