Anyone know? Thanks DjD Jul 6th, 09, 09:44 AM I've used 409 and simple green on plastic wrapped harnesses before with good results. I like the simple green better... WD40 might work as well, I've used it on wire connectors. idoxlr8 Jul 6th, 09, 11:49 AM For light degreasing I have used Simple green with great results but for heavy grime or sticky stuff I found that waterless hand cleaner (GOOP) works the best without harming the wires or connectors. zman1969 Jul 21st, 09, 10:02 AM hand cleaner and rags - git busy! HwyStarJoe Jul 21st, 09, 10:18 AM I use carb cleaner and brake parts cleaner to break the crusty, oily stuff up. Then a regular cleaner like Simple Green or whatever the wife has laying around. :) Skeeter55 Jul 21st, 09, 10:21 AM I'm thinking along the lines of WD-40 and then a mild cleaner of with simple green and rinse. rj68RS Jul 21st, 09, 10:22 AM Just make sure no matter what you use it does NOT contain petroleum distillates. Petroleum distillates will weaken the plastic sheathing on the wires and could cause a very dangerous situation down the road. I would go with Simple Green or similar. hirpms Jul 21st, 09, 12:18 PM I agree with Skeeter, WD-40 will get the grease off. You can use WD-40 on electrical parts. I use it to take tar off of the floor in my c-store. Plus its made of fish oil. It won't hurt you. |
