View Full Version : Now in Summerfield, NC (Greensboro Area)
funbnme Jul 7th, 09, 08:34 PM I'm not new here, but I just moved to a new area, so I thought I'd post here.
If you're in the Greensboro area, please send me a message with your contact info. I'd like to meet some new people in the area and want to know what kind of cool 'camaro stuff' there is to do up here.

STCamaro69 Jul 8th, 09, 07:50 PM Welcome to North Carolina, from Fuquay-Varina, NC!
funbnme Jul 9th, 09, 03:19 PM Thanks for the leads on the car shows. I'll have to do some google searching to try to find out some details on those.
Phonetically, how do you say this? Fuquay-Varina. Is it "Fook-why Var-eena'?
BK69 Jul 9th, 09, 08:10 PM Welcome to the great Tarheel State Dan, I am 1 hour from you near Salisbury NC. Check out the AutoFair in Charlotte, it is scheduled for 2 times a year, once in April and other in September. GoodGuys event at the Charlotte motor speedway last year was last week in October but I think they might have moved in back 1 week this year but will check for you. Also check out if Modern Chevrolet(oldmusclecars.com), they had it the last 2 years on either the 3rd or 4th weekend of July, it is located in Winston Salem off hwy 52, lots of chevys there, also the chevy race car teams always are having shows too, Richard Childress(Welcome,NC) and Rick Hendricks(Concord) always have good shows.
69 Bowtie Jul 9th, 09, 09:06 PM Dan,
Summerfield is a neat area, out of the city, but still really close to Greensboro and Charlotte. I live in Collinsville va, about 45 min away. As Keith already said, the Charlotte Autofair is a pretty cool gig. You gotta make that. As far as cruise-ins, we have one here in town first friday of the month at Subway in Stanleytown Va, I hear that Reidsville, NC has a pretty good cruise in monthly also, check that one out. As far a Camaro parts and service, I have a really good buddy who owns Camaro Junction here in Bassett VA. Top notch work, easy to work with and very knowledgeable about 1st gen Camaro's.
rafbody Jul 9th, 09, 09:15 PM I would highly recommend the Oak Hollow Boat Drags in High Point the weekend of July 24th.
Jul. 24-26 Lucas Oil Oak Hollow Drag Boat Races at Oak Hollow Festival Park. Fri. Test and Tune 10am to 4pm; Sat. Qualifying 10am to 5pm; Sun. Eliminations 10am to 5pm. Gates open at 9am on Fri. and 8am on Sat. and Sun. No pets, no ice chests, no glass bottles, no outside alcohol. Advance tickets; call 505-869-0005. $10 Fri.; $25 Sat.; $25 Sun.; $50 3 day pass. 505-869-0005.
I worked on a top alcohol hydro for several years and the High Point race is a fun event. I wish I could be there.
funbnme Jul 9th, 09, 09:47 PM Just found this cool site with tons of Carolina events.
http://www.cruisincarolinamagazine.com/event
BK69 Jul 10th, 09, 02:26 PM Hey Dan, I subscribe to that magazine, it is run by a husband and wife team and started out very small but has grown quite a bit. Look in the photo gallery on their website and click on some of the Sonic Cruise-In pics in Rockwell. My camaro and my other friends Camaro's are in the pics. This is the town I live in and look how big the event is for such a small town, it give you a idea of how serious people take their classic cars around here. Every town, city and even churches have their own car shows and cruise-in's.
