: What's this car worth? 3rd time on EBay..

I was the high bidder the last 2 times this car was run on EBay. I thought my bids of 19k and 20k were good seeing as that the car needed a top and interior. I think he wants ~25k for it...or more?
What do you guys think? Is there anyone out that way that could inspect it?

Wow...Stunning car restored. A guy across the street from me 30 years ago had the same looking car. Never found out where it went.

Does it have the original drive train? Is it a 20 ft. paint job? Things like that have a bearing on the price.

Why not contact the guy and ask him what he wants. Try to make a deal if it does not sell this time.

It seems to be the original drive and rebuilt tranny and motor. Mechanically is OK, would need to restored in a few years or would need interior and a top now?

That car is about 3.5 hours away from me. Solidity of body is a determining factor on price. As well as origional drivetrain. Pics are bad and ad info uninformative. Pics don't show what's under that paint. Need more details and physical inspection. Nail down the guy on details. Obviously he is holding out for more money. I bought a 67 RS/SS conv. in '88 for $3K--times have changed.

he spells Camaro "Camara"... I don't know if that means anything.

Considering the car is really in need of a resto...25k is high in my opinion. It would be a beautiful car once its restored but to start the resto having already spent 25k is a tough pill to swallow. AGain, IMHO.

Has the car been painted? It is a very nice color and combo... I would love to clean and detail that one, especially if the paint were original... I would do my best to find some survivor seats and clean it and RIDE!

For future search:

VIN 124677L125207
(note: add gives VINas 1246772125207, but being an early Dec. LA build L125207 would make more sense ...)

I agree with comments about 'Seeing' and 'inspecting' the car first
No telling about all the little things that can effect price without seeing and assessing them in person.
Openning a dialoge with the seller may lead to more information and his reasonning on pricing ...

Well, I tried to get more info during the past auctions. He said he wouldn't consider 25k and he thought his wife had the reserve near 30k?
It's a non numbers car with an upgraded Muncie. Motor rebuilt but he doesn't know what was done to it as far as bored, cam, heads, etc....
The paint was redone ~16 years ago? He's not sure....The top DOES not go up, won't because it's been down for years and it won't go all the way up, ie the top is shot. It has a plastic rear window, also needs to be replaced. The hideaways work as well as everything else. He said he might drive it once a year so I'm afraid of other future mechanical issues?
I tried to explain to the guy that I though he was high and I would buy it for $22k ish but he wouldn't bit....I guess I'll keep looking....going to Iola Thursday with the checkbook!

In todays market, 20k is probably it.

If that was what he was willing to disclose, 22k is too much IMHO. You'll find better for less.

The guy wouldn't take 22k for that car ? !! I was wondering how bad the top really was when he said "The top needs to be replaced. " but doesn't mention the big piece of duct tape on the driver seat... I think Royal Plum is an incredible color . There are some photos of a royal plum car under restoration in this thread http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/286841/page/0/fpart/12/vc/1

I think a NOM 67 SB vert that needs a resto for 22k seems steep. I bet he will kick himself in the butt sometime soon for not taking that offer !
