ok lets have some install details. what kind of carpet and glue did you use?
Mike's67 Jul 8th, 09, 02:13 PM They used a open loop apholstery carpet and it is glued with a commercial grade glue that is seriously strong. Burnetts apholstery in Fairfield did it. I only made the sub box and the platform under it. The side panels are from Roddoors.com

This looks good!
How do you form the carpet the shape of the floor?
Steiner Jul 8th, 09, 10:34 PM That looks great. I would need outdoor carpet in mine so I just used paint-on bedliner instead.
Mike's67 Jul 9th, 09, 02:43 AM Apholstery carpet hasa thinner backing and forms easily. It is glued down and fits all of the floor features perfectly.
Thanks for the compliments!
250motorsportz Jul 10th, 09, 12:35 AM WOW! now that is EXACTLY what i want. Im ordering the side panels from Rod Doors aswell, do you have any pics during the build? Looks AWESOME. probably the first simple, custom trunk done in these cars. the custom ones i've seen are all done out crazy(good way, but not meant for these cars). What size sub is that? how did the panels fit from rod doors? did u have to modify the back piece in any way to get that platform and sub fitting like that?

I have just finished my trunk using the Rod Doors side and back panels and have heaps of photos of the install, it was not as easy as I first thought, the panels are good but it takes a lot of fitment, I made aluminum brackets so the entire trunk can be dismantled quite easily. The trunk floor was a lot of work but am absolutely delighted with the results, will post the pics shortly
Mike's67 Jul 10th, 09, 02:36 AM The front piece fits fine, the sides have to be trimmed on the top and length, and the back was too wide. Not a big deal to trim, just a little at a time.
The Sub is a 10"Orion HCCA 10.2 I made the box to fit, 12H X 13W X 12D
I only have before and after pics. The before ones look the same as yours.
kiwicamaro Jul 10th, 09, 03:00 AM Okay here are the pics from our install. We are pleased with the results but ran out of carpet so cant finish the last bit. We are going to make the Chey Bow Tie embossed then carpet it over so it is subtle.

Mike's67 Jul 10th, 09, 04:21 AM That looks nice too! I'm thinking of having a stainless steel bowtie, about the size of yours, waterjetted outof sheetmetal to put on my floor.
nev68 Jul 12th, 09, 01:16 AM Are the floor panels screwed down or secured somehow, or are they pressed in?

How much you want to cut out the 2 side pieces (ones you made of mdf) of the trunk?
Looks great. GOOD JOB!
Ok, nevermind just realized you were in New Zealand! Send me your cardboard cut outs! I suck at measurements :P
