How do the interior sail panel lights on a 67RS connect together ....over the roof? behind the seat? Also if i wanted to add in an additional dome light, where would i plumb it in?
thanks

The sail panel lights are pluged into a connector on the wireing harness that goes back to the tail lights. The tail light wireing harness runs along the inside of the left rocker panel. It goes over the inside of the rear left fender well and into the trunk. Just as the harness enters the trunk there should be a connector. That is the sail panel light connector. From the connecter there should be a sail panel light harness with one set of goes up the left sail panel and another set of wires going across the trunk, under the package try and up into the right sail panel. Hope this helps.

thanks Roger, thats helpful...i didnt want to go ahead and put my headliner in until i was sure there were no wires supposed to be running across the roof.
Do you know if the harness is the same for a standard car vs RS...my car is not an original RS, and im not sure what harnesses I have.....im hoping the plug is there and just not used on a regular car....or maybe it goes to the dome light? Can I just splice the dome light into the harness for the sail panel lights .......i know they dont normally come together, but I have one and want to use it.

I'm not sure if it matters whether it's an RS or not. It has to do with the interior. Deluxe or standard. I belive the deluxe interior came with the 2 sail panel lights and the standard with the dome light in the center of the roof. I may be mistaken but..

you are right...i always mistakenly use the terms RS and deluxe interchangeably but in fact you could get the dlx interior on a non RS car....
that being said, would the wiring harnesses be the same used on both regardless of trim options ordered...you would think so but im not certain....

With my car being a RS with deluxe interior my car had the sail panel lights and they were connected as I described in my first post. I check the 67 wireing diagram and it shows the dome light circuit in the rear lighting harness. The wiring diagram does not differentiate between models or options. The connecter should be where I described above and there should be orange and white wires going to it.

You can install this wire even if your headliner is in.
You can buy the harness if you like.

It connects to the Tail Light Harness on the drivers side of the car.
