Hey guys, I put a power booster on my 67 firebird (I know its not a camaro but I need some help here, please) LOL. And now when I press the break pedal it goes down and stops but the car only slows down. I have a new master cylinder, pads and shoes. not a new booster though. the pedal feels like it does when youre bleeding the brakes and you open the bleeder on the wheel cylinder and the pedal goes down and stops. thats what it feels like when you press the pedal but the car dont stop only slows down. Anyone had this problem? :o:confused:

Did you install a new master cylinder for power brakes, they are different, if it was a used master cylinder that came with the booster it may need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Sounds like the master cyl rod is too long. Check out Dave Pozzi's web page for pics.

Thanks guys for the imput. I have changed the mc again and still the pedal goes down to where it should be sliding the wheels but only slows the car. It takes alot of pressure on the pedal to slide the tires even if it does then. but the pedal is easy to press like the booster is working right untill you want to stop hard.

Just a thought, did you bench bleed master cylinder first?
