When I got my car, the interior had already been gutted for race. The interior door panels are still there as well as the headliner but the back seat, the original seats and all carpet is gone.

That being said;
When I first got the car, it had this foil type stuff in the area where the back seat once was. Not sure what that's for, some sort of race regulation?

Anyway, my wife let the dog in the car once and her claws destroyed the foil and it looks like hell now. :mad:
What is that stuff and where do I get more of it? Does it glue down? If so, whats a good way to take it up so I can put new down there?

I am guessing that it is dyna mat. A sound/heat barrier. Should be able to find pretty easily. With out pics that is my guess. mark

Not a race regulation/rule, its sound deadener. Could be from the factory if it has foil over a 1/4 inch square cloth pattern.

Mat was glued on, putty knife, about 1 inch wide, and a paint heat gun for removal.

Mine was the same way, except I took out the OE carpet, torn, and jute padding - extra weight, and laid done cheap hardware store $3/yd black carpet - real cheap - and cut to fit. One piece from the front firewall down the floor up the back panel and finishes at the rear window. Tin snips for those compound corners and a razor knife for the seat/seatbelt holes.

Sound barrier eh? What do you think that weighs?

I'd like to cover it with something lighter weight. That car is so loud that a bit of sound barrier for the road noise is no effect.

The foil look kind of looks good I just want something in there to make it look better than what it is now.
