There's a problem with that first "4" ;)
It could be an;
A = Mexico or maybe a 'K' = Canada or ???

The 'TZW' block suffix decodes as;
1978 1/2~3/4 ton C/K (two wheel or four wheel drive) 350 - 165hp RPO-LS9 for use in California Emissions or High Altitude models.
Assembled on April (04) 8th (08)

The casting numbers for the heads are under the valve covers in the spring area.
They are usually located between two of the rocker studs towards the upper side of this area.

Okay :thumbsup:

The "V" would indicate that it was assembled in the Flint Engine Assembly Plant.
The rest is above for date and application of the suffix ...

The 'Partial VIN' decodes as;
C = Chevrolet Conventional truck
8 = 1978 model year
Z = Fremont (California) Final Assembly Plant
175294 = sequencial VIN number assigned to unit

Soooo - the engine block was originally installed in a 1978 conventional pick-up truck built for the Chevrolet Truck Division in the Fremont Assembly Plant and to be sold in the state of California or maybe a 'High Altitude' impact area of one of the ajoining states ;)

Hope this helps;
John
